PSOC adoption
« on: December 20, 2019, 12:38:37 PM »
Recently I've been thinking about making different drsstc drivers. One thing i always keep going back to are the PSOC drivers. For the initial iteration (being a tht dev kit) they seem perfect for someone like me, I guess my question is who here has started making their own boards and using them? I know profdc9, Laci and of cource Netzpfuscher have (be it Netzpfuscher has moved onto smd)

cheers,
chris

If you're averse to SMD then the dev kit is actually _cheaper_ than buying the chip itself, so you can just use it as a part in it's own right.
Otherwise, they do have it in QFP packages which are pretty reasonably to solder with just a decent iron (no hot air required), and there is nothing particularly difficult about designing a board with them.
I would suggest grabbing a dev kit to begin with and having a play with the PSoC software (or just play with the software itself and the UD3 project or something) - using it is a bit different from either a normal software IDE or using straight VHDL/Verilog for an FPGA.
