Need some sorted info on drivers.
« on: November 08, 2019, 06:55:30 PM »
Im looking to start on my next coil and did a lot of reading on sstc and drsstc.

I have built my own dc power supply for 330 volts .

I have the parts for the full bridge inverter, if that is what it is called (correct me),  I have 4 mosfets (that were recommended on this site) , the dioad and some massive heat sync's. I also ordered, received and tested the gdt that I seen Mads using.

Now the problem, been reading on many sites, about drivers..steve wards, mads, loneoceans and many different ones on ebay.

I want to buy one with all the features you guys talk about, I read someone says, I bought this one and someone else says "it good but don't have phasing" or something like that and someone else says I got this one, then someone else says well that one don't do this or that.

Also on all these boards 1.?b or 2.?? or most of the ebay ones have optical input, but I never see any device for sale that plugs in to the port and I believe it is the remote control, but where do you get one.

I have found this one on ebay and I think it has what I need for my first board, but not real sure.

I want to have a nice board to set up and play with scope and freq generator until I start building. Wenter is comming

https://www.ebay.com/itm/DRSSTC-Driver-Tesla-Coil-Board-Input-12V-DC-For-Double-Resonant-Solid-State/113913731335

Recap, I have power supply and inverter just need a tip on what to get next. I also found some through hole boards to build, but again don't know if they have all I want.
Im getting old and not much time left to play and have read for hours on end just need a little stearing. Thanks
