Upper and lower pole working

Sorry to be dumb, but could someone please explain the difference between
these two methods of working?

When you have 2 tanks, like in a DRSSTC, the system will have 2 resonance frequencies. If the tanks are uncoupled, they will just be the primary and secondary resonances. When they are coupled, the system will also have 2 resonance frequencies, but they will be shifted away from the original resonances. These 2 new frequencies usually are called poles. The lower pole lies below the two original frequencies and the upper pole above them. Here's a bit about how they affect the performance of a TC:

look up resonant transformer frequency splitting. depending on your coupling the amount of frequency splitting will be more or less greater. if you have accsess to a signal generator with or with out sweep capabilities and a o-scope you can see this first hand.

Thanks so much Uspring.  That's got me a much further up my learning curve.
When run orcad simulation I saw this thing but not yet understand clearely.
High class Tesla coil player “ Steve ; Gao. .”  for example, they wrote their project very detail, but I think their document missing an importance information : final frequency of the coils running at low power out and max. power out.
Because when analyzed DRSSTC1; . .  DRSSTC3 in Gao web page i want to know these information, but i can not.
