Royer induction heater based on kaizerpowerelectronics

hello. based on the website that is stated, i have construct a circuit simulation on proteus 8.
however instead of using diodes and zeners to the mosfets, i connect the mosfet from a gate driver then connect it to a microcontroler which is the arduino uno for the switching of the mosfets .

this attachment is my circuit constructed on proteus 8 simulation and please noticed that ir2112 is the virtual gate driver connected to the mosfets.

this attachment is the output waveform measured on oscilloscope on the mosfets.

im looking forward for an assist on my school project.

Why do you wish to use a microcontroller? One of the things I like about the Royer circuit is that it is self adjusting.

Why do you wish to use a microcontroller? One of the things I like about the Royer circuit is that it is self adjusting.

what do you mean by self adjusting? im using a microcontroller for the switching of the two mosfets. is it not necessary?

The Royer induction heater is self contained. The switching is done automatically based on the capacitance and the inductor value of the LC tank. If you use a microcontroller to force a non-optimal frequency I suspect something might break or at least get hot. And this circuit gets plenty hot as it is, trust me ;)

It is a very commonly used circuit and old, the Royer oscillator: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royer_oscillator

If you want to build a IH with active gate drive, you should look into the LCLR type of inverters. These are generally also more stable and has higher power output than a Royer. The Royer IH is however very simple, fast to build but on the other hand it can also destroy itself in seconds :)
