Cola coalescence delayed/persisting droplets filmed at 4000 fps

I was contacted by a reddit user that asked me to film the dispersing droplets on the surface of cola in a bottle. By hitting the side of the bottle hard with a screwdriver, droplets on the surface can form and the bursting of these are filmed here with FPS1000HD camera in 640x360 pixels @ 4000 fps.

Delayed coalescence or persisting water droplets on water surfaces has a lot of studies behind it, as droplet distribution is widely used in my industrial applications such as dosing, colouring, mixing etc. The mechanic and theory behind it is not 100% established but here is a public available study where you can learn some more details. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3208511/

As this was not directly electronics related, I posted it from my personal youtube account, which you can subscribe to if you like other science/experiment related slow motion videos :)
