Hi everybody!

I don't understand, how basdefed works in Tesla coil. Basdefed allows to multiply the voltage of the generator several times.

The discharge burns between the top of the coil and the generator body through the capacitance through the air-generator body.

The coil can be represented as a little inductors with parasitic capacitors between turns.

These are several oscillatory circuits. I'm using the Falstad simulator. I connected several oscillatory circuits, but did not receive voltage multiplication. What's my mistake?

In its most simple form a basefed TC is a series circuit of a voltage source, an inductance (i.e. the usual secondary) and a capacitance (e.g. the toroid).
Explicitly: Ground---Voltage source---Inductor---Capacitor---Ground.

At resonance you will see a large multiplication of voltage around the capacitor. For a more realistic model, you can add a resistor across the capacitor to account for the arc load and a resistor in series with the inductance to account for the copper wire resistance. You can also split up the inductance into a series of small tanks like you did in your simulation. With resonable values this will add more high frequency resonances to the system. Usually these can be neglected, unless you want to go into very much detail.

Basefeed has the disadvantage, that you need quite large voltages, since the transformer action between primary and secondary coil is missing.
