Syntherrupter - Build by AstRii

Hey guys,
I finally printed some parts to secure the syntherrupter with the controls into a nice box.
In case you'd like to see it:

The box includes 10000mAh Li-ion battery pack, 3A charger and 1A boost converter to 5V for the Syntherrupter. Also a battery voltage indicator (LED bar graph).
All the channels have their own on/off switch and also an "emergency" push button which shuts the channel down (it's faster than pressing the on/off switch). There is also one switch which turns on/off all the channel at once.

Wow! This looks very professional! Can we get some pictures of it?
Edit: Actually 1A does not leave that much headroom. The Nextion display needs up to 500mA, each transmitter up to 60mA (x6), the ESP8266 can go up to ~100mA and the Tiva microcontroller will need a bit of current, too...

Yes i can show you some pictures, but i think it's nothing you haven't already seen in the video (There isn't much more to see :D )







Yes i'm aware of the little headroom of that 1A supply. Right now i'm only planning of using 2 coils at maximum. In the future i will probably upgrade the boost converter. But i think it's not that necessary. Let's say that the display needs 500mA.. There are 6 transmitters each wired up to use 100mA. There are also 7 LEDs 20mA each. That's 1240mA, but all of the transmitters and 6 of those LEDs only run at very low duty cycles (as the coils), let's say 10%. That would mean 592mA consumption. I think it's okay.

Thanks for the pictures. I think details are much better visible than in the video - especially since the green LED was clearly too much for the video camera.

Now please tell me that you dont have transmitter 1 above button 6 in the UI... ::) I mean, you could easily wire it up differently, no? If I remember right, you have individual wires running from your transmitter board to the dev board. So it should be easy to swap the wire from pin PM6 with the one from PD0(?)

A possible alternative to the switch plus push button might be this kind of switch. Not suggesting you should replace them; it's more for other people looking at this. "fast turn off" in an emergency situation is what these are made for:

Yes you are right, i made a mistake when designing the UI, for now it's not a problem to keep track of which channel is playing since i only plan to use 2 tesla coils at max. But in the future, i may fix this issue.
