Title: NotPetya hacker attack, were you affected?
Post by: Mads Barnkob on June 30, 2017, 07:09:48 PM
So do anyone have stories to share about being affected by the NotPetya attack that went down on the 27th June 2017 afternoon?

I am away on a business trip to a customer to install software upgrades to their production systems, but as they were affected and closed everything down, we have been cut off from the world for about 2 days before the open internet connection and wifi got back online.

This is also why I have not been able to reply for a couple of days :-X

How are these spread? Spam mails?

How are these spread? Spam mails?

That is most likely how the attack starts, someone has to press a link, run some malicious code or just run with outdated software, but once its inside a organisations network it goes fast by spreading itself through vulnerabilities in different software platforms and then seeks ways to spread itself to other networks from the newly infected one. It basically becomes a net bot network platform to spread the virus from.
