Question About New Atoms On The Horizon...

Here at Berkeley we're getting ready to make another run at producing Element 119. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ununennium)

And I have a crazy thought, instead of using the traditional particle collisions of nuclei what if there were an different way entirely of finding elements? We are going to find elements that are definitely new elements and many will decay in micro or milli Seconds, but were most interested in long lived elements especially in the "G-orbital" series. After Element 120 there is a large group of elements which will have electrons in a new shell around a nucleus. This will be something we Humans have never seen before, nuclear and conventional chemistry would be changed forever if the G-orbitals were available for covalent and ionic bonds with other atoms.

With that background, my question is: If Humans don't know how to create these next 18 elements, maybe someone else already has in large quantity. Is it possible to scan a large section of space looking for an ionized atom emitting light at predicted locations on the electromagnetic spectrum? Maybe an advanced civilization forgot their trash can and left it out in space and we could see it as a plasma eons later, emitting a unique spectra of one of these G-block elements?

Sensor noise and detectiblity seem to be the limiting factor for an optical/radio telescope, presumably a space telescope would have to be used to have any hope of sifting through so much bogus light. The Milky way galaxy is 87,000 ly in diameter, 1,000 ly thick, and we rotate about it every 210 Million years. Our Sun started pulling together 4.6 B year ago, that's about 15-20 swings and "swervings" around in our galaxy. If our 10 Bn year old galaxy with 100 Bn stars was a turbulent jumble being stirred together that's a lot of opportunity for an advanced civilization to "leak" some detectable plasma. Seems like they should be leaking radio waves too, but we haven't seen that either.

The Drake's Equation has always been a puzzle, this would seem to add to that I guess.
But its just a crazy thought to consider.
