Lecroy Waverunner 6000a - is it worth for hobby use?

Hello,
I have the chance to pick up a used Lecroy 6050a (500 Mhz 4Ch).
Is it worth to buy this oszilloscope for hobby use (tesla coil)?
Is the UI pratical?

Perhaps somebody here have such a oszilloscope or used to work with one.

If you can get it for a good price... I'd say, definitely go for it.

I have some experience on LeCroy scopes and while the user interface is not the best I've used, I would take that scope any day. Much better specifications than those usual hobbyist scopes.

As a bonus, since it has Windows XP OS, you can play Solitaire and Pinball on it.

If you do buy it dont ever connect it to a network with internet access.  We had a Tektronix scope that ran on Windows - was fine until someone plugged it into the company network and Windows Update got loose. Something got changed and completely screwed up the scope. Had to wipe and reinstall the OS, then disable Update.  You'd expect better from an expensive GHz scope.

Honestly, Windows as a test equipment OS has to be THE dumbest idea.

If you trust the rest of your network maybe connect it with manual IP settings, skipping gateway and DNS so it can't talk to the internet? If you don't trust your network then putting an unpatched XP box on it isn't a good idea regardless.

A connection to the internet is not planned. So very low risk because of the old XP.

Do you think 950 EUR is ok for a unit in very good condition (no cracks, good screen no scratches).

A new chinese brand 4 channel 500mhz scope is going to cost at least double that, so I reckon its a good deal, if you have the cash to invest.

Yeah I would go for it too, for that price you won't find anything close to these specs.
