Huge IGBTs (looking for a home)

I'm looking to see if anyone has a good home for these parts, preferably within the US, recipient pays shipping - I'm just looking to give these away.

I have 4 of each of these giant IGBTs from electric trains:

Also have some gate driver boards that could be reverse-engineered, which use the large plastic fiber optic cables (R-2551Z and T-1551Z) and have some kind of isolating power supply input.  Whoever takes IGBTs will get gate drivers, too, as i try to reduce my collection.

I can not imagine building anything so large that these would be required, yet alone finding a way to power it!

Well my plan is not exact but I have quite a few ideas lol, number 1 right now is looking like using one for driving a super large ferrite core, hopefully to break the 100kv mark and maybe using that for a input to a large voltage multiplier! (might even break a record or two while i’m at it 😉)

Huh a ferrite transformer was certainly not what I expected - or pretty much amything that runs continuously. I mean, for 1000A-2000A that must be some serious windings!

Anyways, hope those beasts will find a good new home and yield to interesting projects.

Ah my bad, I should probably say what I’d do with them for. Well me and a buddy of mine had finished our 6 footer coil last summer and we are thinking about making something crazier this summer, If i take em in, I would probably do a massive dual DRSSTC project, If i end up doing it I will be sure to keep you guys updated
