So I'm new on this forum, I've been trying to master my first Tesla coin and I'm running into the issue of not being able to get any kind of a lighting bolt, I can light up a 3ft florescent easy enough but no BOOM lol can anyone please give me pointers

Secondary is 700 wraps on a 1inch PVC with .20 enamel
My primary is at 2in PVC with 6 wraps of 1.0 enamel

UPDATE: I just had my first lightning, but I had to use a isolated whisker, the bolt was apx 2-3 inches but I can sustain a corona at close to 4inches

I think that there is a reluctance to respond to your post because there is so little detail. We don't know where to start. What little information that you do provide is confusing. I may be mistaken but it also sounds like you don't know much about the theory of tesla coil operation. I suggest that you carefully study some of the better tesla coil sites such as the following:

These should give you a good understanding of how a tesla coil works and how to build one. After you have educated yourself, use the design program called "JAVATC" to design your tesla coil. If you can't get your design to work in JAVATC then it will never work when you build it. After you have done all of this you can ask more pointed and specific questions. Then people will be better able to help you.

It sounds like you have a working Tesla Coil, but that it is not optimally build and nowhere near to be in tune, so you need to read up on Tesla Coil resonance and tuning of SGTC.
