Title: Creating arcs off my variac lol, popped my igbts

Had to use safety gap since it was flashing over at ~20kV
Popped my igbts
Wish I could've pushed more, but maybe in the future

That goes beyond any other variac abuse I have ever seen!

Good job on pushing something into HV territory that was never there :)

It reminded me how I arced small transformers from a umformer. :)

In case we are permitted to ask about unrelated stuff on bench: Is the white insulator appearing at 3:20 home-made?

haha sorry i didn't respond, and not sure if i'm allowed to "bump" this thread by forgetting to respond, but yes it's 3d printed haha
