Help needed - which IGBT module to buy

I am ready to buy some IGBT's. I have seen the cm300 and cm600 and only need the cm300 for now. Is their something newer I should get instead of 2 cm300.

Or any advice, just want something that will have a little kick.  Also on ebay, found the price of 40 bucks to 100 bucks for the cm300's     What is a good price or should I spend the money on something better. Thanks

Generally I have said that 300A bricks should be around 20-30$ a piece for a half-bridge module and double the price for a 600A. Times are changing, either its harder to find the good old CM300/600, so it might get more expensive, but on the other hand, as you ask, is there a better alternative?

A problem with more modern modules is that they get more integrated with protective circuits, active gate drive, built in chopper circuits and is generally 3-phased modules. Maybe it even comes in stupid pressure fit packages like "Skiip" or with multiply pin header connectors with 20A going through each and the use 10 per power leg.

Thanks for the feedback, I have your list printed out. Just did not want to make any purchasing mistake, like, " oh you should have bought these."  Thanks, still learning

Anyone know of a safe place to buy the cm300, plenty from china. I want accouple of em, just to play with.

I have been looking at IGBT's and I think I have settled on these skm400GB128D at the link below.
They have a lot of numbers with them, and Im not sure if they will work or maybe not even at all, seen skm's on Madd's list, but different numbers. Just don't want to waist money.
If these don't have any gotchas, let me know. Going little dizzy looking for something.

Just seen the skm400gb125d about 50 bucks a piece, going to pull the trigger and get a pair, they look ok with my limited igbt knowledge. If you see any problems with this choice please let me know.

You could find your answer if you for example read Mads DRSSTC guide on his website

You didn't even write for what you would use IGBT modules, CM300 and CM600 are suited for different applications

I have read mads guide several times, and did search this and many other sites. I did not start something new, because I thought I would get yelled at, did anyway.
I have read the site rules and ask for clarification like what was said above. I know you can't babysit, I guess im just not smart enough for you folks. Won't screw up your site anymore.
