Using static electricity in the car painting

I want to use HV in the car painting (during spraying) to make the particles ionic so that the paint stick the piecework smoothy without any droplet. What should I do?

Which range of voltage and what circuit are needed? 

Exposing the sprayed car paint to a high voltage will not be the cause of a fire or explosion?

I'm not a painter but I have painted my car. There would be many reasons why you're getting blobs during spraying. Not enough air pressure to atomize the paint, paint/thinner ratio is not correct, a clogged nozzle or simply inexperienced.

In no way would I ever charge a gun..... The correct afr in the booth with a spark could lead to a very big explosion, I just would not risk it.

Do not mix home made high voltage and normal volatile combustible gasses like a spray paint would be!

Electrostatic powder coating, where you need an oven to melt and harden the particles into a paint layer, could be done safely at home, but I doubt you have an oven.

I would advise you to buy a DIY cheap electrostatic spray painter kit, as you will only get good results if you have the right tools anyway.

So, why this method of electrostatic is used in the spraying paint is some industries? How do they do this without and danger? Which electrostatic system they use? How much is the level of the system voltage (1Kv-2Kv-3Kv-...)

I'm not a car painter but as far as I know this method of electrostatic is used in spraying paint to force the particles (ionizing them) not to spread out in the air (saving paint) and also the particles stick on the workpiece firmly and regularly (So that the paint doesn't drip)

you can do itthe car industry does it to get into all the crevices but they now use aquius paint ie water based not solvent based
Here in NZ even the car repair places use water based car paint -the solvent based is very expensive and getting harder to purchase
