What to drive this UY30 transformer?

Hello, I bought this AliExpress flyback transformer based on a UY30 ferrite core, and an induction driver to power it as shown. From a 12v lithium battery the output was puny, I was like haha fuck me that was a waste of money. Then I hooked a 48v battery through the same ZVS and it killed the transformer in about 4 seconds, I watched my money melt away through the epoxy potting and out the bottom. It was a brief fat discharge though.

Assuming the ratings are true, which they may well not be, is it a case of these ZVS drivers drawing as much current as is available and I have to limit it myself? an 1800W driver killed a 3000W transformer.

I might think that the problem is insulation on the high voltage side, maybe the potting was not done properly and there was some air bubble or maybe the 48V input on the zvs created a voltage that is too high even for the potting used, so maybe two or more winding arced over and created an arc inside the potting that melted it from the inside.
I experimented a little with ZVS and high voltage, and from what I have learned they don't absorb a lot of power if there is no load. So an arc or other kind of load on the secondary like a short circuit (caused by an arc) might be the cause of your power spike and consequent disaster.
To avoid wasting the money you might recover the core and wind another secondary with less turn or better insulation to avoid this happening again.

It is a 100:1 transformer so I was expecting around 5kV, which may have been true based on arc distance but that doesn't seem like it should have caused a meltdown with much smaller transformers putting out much higher voltages. You may be right about a void in the potting.

I grabbed the HV wire with pliers and it notably arced straight through it with a distinct glow of corona so it may have been driven too hard. The description gives little driver information other than above 2kV requires potting.

I think I'll purchase another bare transformer and pot it or oil immerse it myself, that way I only have myself to blame if it goes wrong. It's a bit hard to salvage this one.

I'm not sure if anyone has comparable transformers of this size and winding to advise?
