By profession I was mechanical rather than electronic so I tend to think
in this way and like mechanical solutions.

I am building my first QCW and wondered about generating the sloping
waveform normally derived from a ATtiny for the bus voltage.

So I rigged up a small DC motor running at about 6000 RPM which is
10 milli sec per rev. This can be reduced to give 20 milli sec etc

Mounted on this is a small cardboard (!) cam on either side of which is an led and  light detector.

Wih a suitable shape to the cam the output shown on my scope is the
wave form required !
It's not quite right at present as the cam profile needs slightly tweeking.

So that's  my mechanical QCW !

Building my DRSSTC and considering my top load construction.
Bought the standard ali ducting to make it but had a mad thought...…

Scooter, garden tractor and car inner tubes are very cheap to buy,
SO. blow one up, cover in ali foil. Job done !!

The inner tube valve could be sealed for good or if
you consider inner tube may deflate over time then leave it.

Any thoiughs?

Hi,
Has anyone had a stroke due to using any type of Tesla coil.
SGTC, SSTC etc.

I wish to run two independent VTTC's (GU81's) in close proximity to each other.
The pri/sec coils will have a gap betwen them of about 100mm.

I cannot foresee any snags but someone else may know otherwise, please.
