Why only one flip flop for ZCS-OCD triggering?

Hello! I was recently looking at the UD2.7c, as is my daily practice. I always lived the implementation of a flip flop to make it so that in the event of an over current, UVLO, or the pulse has ended, that ZCS is ensured… but that flip flop only changes state when the ultrafast comparator changes from negative to positive, so only half of the ZCS events are detected. Why don’t we invert this signal, do the same thing we did with the other flip flop, and feed both flip flop’s output into an AND gate.

No, definitely not stupid.  Adds a little bit of complexity in order to gain half-cycle-faster response to over-current.  My DRSSTC checks OCD on both edges much like you suggest.

This is exactly what i did with my driver. It uses 2 flip flops to detect ZVS on rising and falling edges of the clock. I think it's not really necessary but I really like it, the big advantage in my opinion is the greater control over the ontime when playing MIDI in particular when songs have a progressive ontime it sounds very good.
