Dissimilar caps for Marx or CW?

For a full wave rectified CW or Marx, does it matter if all the caps are approx the same value?

If I use clusters of 3 or 4 caps in parallel, 3x per stage, if the total capacitance per cluster is about the same, do the values of the individual caps matter?

Different capacitances will work as capacitive voltage dividers. Current draw will balance itself in the same way, the largest capacitance will supply the most peak current.

I am not sure how these basic rules apply to the CW, but for a Marx that would be uneven charge rates and unstable discharge break downs. Possible failure modes would be in the strings with highest capacitance, as its going to take the most stress.
