My DRSSTC

Hello everyone, I made my DRSSTC during the school holiday, and moved down the building with my father a few days ago. The effect was not bad. The 150V power supply and the sound of electric arc were so loud that they disturbed the neighbors nearby.
Here are some parameters of my coil:
Subprime: 1.2 M
TOP：1000x250mm
Resonant frequency is 50KHZ
24V switching power supply is used for driving, and CPLD is used as logic gate array for driving plate

Then there's my own differential probe I used to test the photos when the coil passed zero. It works very well!

Impressive build!  I'm especially impressed with making your own differential probe.  Is it based on the P5205 schematics that can be found online?  There are many people here who could benefit from a low-cost differential probe.  (I spent the money for a used P5205, and plan to make an optically-isolated probe next winter.)  Do you have schematics and layout to share for your probe?

Hi, I just used the most basic difference circuit to complete it, in EEVBLOG P5205 drawing you can find on BBS, specific link I didn't save, optical isolation difference probe I also very interested in but the field of laser transmission signal is needed to get signal to minimize the delay, but need capital is beyond my ability range, so I don't have the ability to do hope to help you.

The coil itself looks pretty good - is the first one you've built?

My only comments would be that a larger toroid might help performance, and more bus voltage (a doubler? I assume you're on 230/240V mains supply?) would really be needed to let the coil run at it's full potential. Complaining neighbors are unfortunately more difficult to solve than the electrical design though

hi!Built this is my first major DRSSTC, thank you for your advice I'll think about it, the design of the coil is actually can use 380 v three-phase electric power supply, it is no problem, but it takes a lot of space and a strong enough power, unfortunately I don't have, ha ha, really solve how to make the neighbours complaining is not because the sound of the arc is more difficult than electrical design!

Looks like you have about 3-4 turns on the primary coil, so those two big MMC caps are about 1-1.5uF? Got any other pictures of the MMC caps?

Toroid is properly big enough, but I am more worried about the very few and thin wires used for it. How is its capacitance compared to a full even surface toroid topload? Try to calculate it in JAVATC ( http://classictesla.com/home/javatc/ ), one with many small rings as you built yours and one with a single toroid the same minor/major diameter?
