Jacob ladder with flyback transformer.

Hello, I need to make a Jacob's ladder for a project at my university. The minimum width of the arc is 10 cm . I want to make ones that have more than 20cm of arc. For the ladder I plan to use a 3/8 in * 5ft copper bar
I have researched on the internet and I have seen that a flyback could be used to generate the high voltages. I have these questions:
1- Can the tv flybacks be used in series with a zvs driver or could you take a ferrite core and make one?
2- Could a larger arc be achieved if a Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier is used?

I assume C note is a reference to your grades from the project and not something with playing a musical C note on a flyback transformer?

1: yes you can drive  a flyback transformer with a ZVS circuit and you can also quite easily wind your own HV transformer. There is plenty of threads about that here on the forum.

2: yes, a CW multiplier will take some of the high voltage stress away from the flyback transformer. They can output a good current for short run times, but usually flash over to their ferrite core when pushed far beyond their limits and outputting 40+kV

Darkie, you seem to be asking for a lot of hand-holding from nerd-forum readers, so you can make a spectacular JL project with minimum amount of effort to find answers on your own.   I think a generation has grown up to believe that any fact not findable with 5 minutes (or 5 hours) of Googling is not known, or not worth knowing.

It would help if you introduce yourself and tell us about your EE and high voltage experience.
Jacob's Ladders, whether made from MOT's or NST's or flyback transformers, can be lethal.
