Title: Slayer Exciter Mosfet Gate drive alternative?
Post by: shifatsrm09 on November 03, 2020, 03:29:55 AM
I stumbled across this video

/>
I want to replicate the circuit from this guys its seems so nice. The mosfet gate driver DS0026 is so rare in my country.I live in Bangladesh,Asia. So i find a alternative i try to find mic 4452 and so many driver but i cant find those in my local and large electronic market. So how i can drive the gate pin without these is there any other component i can use? which is common in everywhere.

Have a look here:

Filter for the parameters that you require.

TC4420's seem real easy for me to find even if they come packaged as UCC2732x chips.

Check out the Skori SSTC's and TefaTronix's website if you want to try a cool circuit without gate drivers. You can actually get away with just using suitable higher voltage FETs which are easy to find like IRFP250's and I've gotten away with using pulled inductors for the GD/Feedback transformer. Can use an interrupter circuit at the gates or add another fet to do it at the power rail.

Here's a video of one I made I have a few small iterations of and it doesn't use a lot of components.
