Building a spark chamber to detect cosmic radiation?
« on: October 28, 2017, 09:12:41 PM »
To all high-voltage friends

Please, has anyone in this forum made the construction of a spark chamber, for the detection of particles of cosmic radiation?
e.g.
https://sciencedemonstrations.fas.harvard.edu/presentations/cosmic-ray-spark-chamber

Welcome to the forum :)

Interesting way of demonstrating the path of the particle, so the high voltage pulse is triggered by the first PMT and stopped by the 2nd?

My experience is limited to a single PMT: http://kaizerpowerelectronics.dk/high-voltage/photomultiplier-tube/

I know this is an old post but both PMT's have to be triggered by a partical before
the HV is applied to the plates.  If a partical only triggers one PMT, this
is ignored.
