Hello everyone, I finished my dual 811a vttc and it works pretty well from what I can tell. I have an issue though. The streamers sometimes come from the the tap on the feedback coil. How to I stop this?

Hey everyone, I was cleaning my workplace and i noticed that one of my MOCs was leaking some sort of oil. I couldn't tell what kind it was, and it had a strong smell, but I figured somebody on here would know what type of liquid it is.

Before you read: I have a severe case of OCD, which is why I obsess over certain things.
Hello everyone, I am super embarrassed to have to post this, but the past few months have been filled with anxiety and I thought this could help.

Around 2 months ago, I removed the shunts from a MOT, and plugged it into mains. The primary side read 40 amps max, and apon seeing this i didn't keep it on for more than a few seconds, because this was on a 20 amp breaker (USA, so 120v as well.)

Ever since I have been OBSESSING about those 40 amps. My breaker didn't trip either, which is because of the trip curve I believe. I am worried about the wiring in my walls, and if pulling those 40 amps for a short period of time could have done permanent damage to the wiring (or anything else!). I am terrified at the thought of my house burning down, and this often keeps me up at night.

Sorry for being such a weirdo, but I love what you guys are doing on here and I just want some closure on this. Thanks.

Edit: I did this several different times, none of which were more than a few seconds in duration.

Hello everyone, I am building a capacitor bank and I am a bit confused about some concepts.

I know that this could kill me instantly, and understand the safety risks.
Each cap is 200v 2000uF (incase image is missing)
How many joules would this give me?
I understand series and I understand parallel but I can't grasp series-parallel YET.

I am almost done building my VTTC that follows Steve Wards VTTC5 design with one 833A triode, and before plugging it in I want to know what the current draw will be, or how to calculate it. Does anyone know how to do this or what formula to follow?. I Copied his build verbadim.

Hello everyone, I am sort of new to high voltage electronics, and I have a lot to learn still. The only thing is that I have a severe case of OCD, which is which is where I worry excessively about things even if they aren't reasonable concerns.
Anyway, I was using HV electronics to distract me from my obsessions, when suddenly the OCD started to creep into my new hobby. My (irrational and may not make sense) worries include:
-Could experimenting with high voltage melt the wires in the walls, or start a wire in the walls?
-Could it fry my circuit breaker and start a fire?
-Would a MOT Metal Melter start a fire if the output is 1000 Amps but my circuit breaker is only 500 Amps (I know this doesn't make any sense by my OCD distorts my thinking)
Sorry for bringing mental illness into this forum, but its not like I could ask anyone who would know better than people like you guys.
P.S. I have the knowledge to safely handle HV, and have done so in the past, but my OCD dwells on what I can't see (ei. in the walls)
