DC charging solution

So I want to take my medium/small sgtc that was formerly driven by a 12kV 60mA nst and drive it with a large ac flyback putting out rectified dc. Power levels 500-2500w, limited by the zvs driving the flyback.
 I haven't attempted a dc charged sgtc before, and would like some input from those with more experience.
My current question is what would an appropriate inductor for the charging circuit be? Lvalue and current rating, type/size of core and winding.
 I would also like to know if these components might work better in a different configuration, such as cw.
Caps aren't an issue, I've got enough dtr and cde caps to cover about any combination needed. The coil is a flat primary using .25" copper and secondary is 4.5"x20" with 1150 turns, resonant around 185kHz.
 Any guidance or suggestions are much appreciated.

There's at least one other thread on a flyback-driven SGTC.  Used flyback transformers with internal diodes.  Finding/building a suitable inductor for a Terry filter was quite a problem.  Since you are using an AC flyback with external rectification, may be a bit more possible.  I'd recommend simulating (LTSpice or similar) to see how much inductance is needed to keep diode current within rating.

I think there are more examples of ZVS-driven CW coils, on youtube etc. and perhaps a few here.  Try searching.  Resulting arcs are quite different for CW, shorter and thicker.  Good for coloring arcs with metal salts.
