I think a counterpoise in addition to the regular ground connection would reduce noise on the ground lines, as well as possible provide a ground strike point.

the µc is a Arduino Mega 2560.

I made interrupter with a BluePill STM32, It's a very powerful controller and dirt cheap. I suggest you check it out if you have a couple bucks to spare.

Are you familiar with free and open source software? Here are a few reasons to share source code:

• People can give you feedback and suggestions
• People can learn from your code
• People can improve your code and contribute back
• Your work has greater value if people use it (I mean you're not gonna sell it are you)

You can license your code under so people will be required to share any modified versions they make of your code.

But of course it's up to you.

How stupid of an idea would it be to connect the MIDI output from multiplayerpiano.com to a tesla coil? Just thinking. If I can get my tesla coil reliable enough maybe I could do a livestream or something and let people play on it. If I feel like it I could even make a custom website for it. It reminds me of the David Blaine event with arcattack, although that was a bit different.

Obviously there's the risk of people playing black MIDI or something to try and destroy the coil. Would have to try and mitigate that and do some testing.

What problems are you running into with hand wound GDTs? You just said it's difficult to make them. Do you mean you can't source the parts or do you have trouble winding them?

Two channel interfaces are trivial. They can be made with off-the-shelf components really. That's why I'm specifically talking about multichannel.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you build that monstrosity with enamel copper wire and solder on the back of a TO-247 package? Seems kinda dodgy to me, especially considering the high voltage.
