Title: Homemade flyback on 60N60DLF full bridge
Post by: Platinum on February 10, 2019, 08:36:12 PM
Hi guys as we all love arcs I thought I'd share a video of my homemade flyback running at about 3Kw from a isolation transformer off a full bridge of 60N60s

Excuse the M10 bolts  ;D I lashed it up quick to see some arcs

The M10 bolts are excused! Those are some nice arcs, though there always seems to be something missing without the 100Hz hum from mains :P

But it does have that "click" when first striking! Nice sparks from such a small food box :)

What kind of driver/control are you using for the 60N60 bridge?

Hi Mads, I work in welding/engineering and I can take home old disused welding equipment so I took a few welding inverter boards and "remanufactured" them into a power bridge for my flyback and I guess they would make a powerful induction heater too, this uses sd6835 and I added 4 60N60DLF IGBTs

This board uses current mode control in the new video terrible build quality though as that's all I had on hand  :-*

Hard to see the arcs but massive current as alot of UV being emitted I can stretch them too 2 feet when done fast
