Happy New Year everyone! A couple of days ago I finished installing the voltage shifter battery. Capacity as before, 8 microfarads. Capacitors are located on 2 "floors", fixed with fiberglass panels.
Also made the front panel of the unit. Three ammeters and a voltmeter are fixed on it. Ammeters will measure the current in the 230V mains, as well as the plate current and the tube filament current. Soviet ship ammeters Д1600
On the front panel there are circuit breakers that serve for primary switching and protection of cooling, filament and plate circuits. Switches for the first two circuits for 16A, for the plate transformer circuit - for 63A.
For switching loads (cooling fan, filament transformer, plate transformer), a switching unit (made on contactors) is assembled on top of the plate transformer.
The power supply will be equipped with a remote wired control panel, which will turn the circuits on and off. To connect to the remote control, aviation connectors ШР40 will be used. On the remote control - connectors for 16 pins, for connecting power 230v - for 3 pins (heavy duty). There are also two connectors for connecting an external variac for the possibility of regulating the plate voltage (the unit is assembled as a universal one for powering Big Vacuum Tube Tesla coils).

Very high quality of work, very tidy construction!

What is the purpose of the thin copper wire and thin black wire going off the back of the level shifter capacitors? Is it a ground wire to the chassis of capacitors?

What is the purpose of the thin copper wire and thin black wire going off the back of the level shifter capacitors? Is it a ground wire to the chassis of capacitors?
The thick black wires connect in parallel the capacitor sections located on two "floors". One of the taps goes to the transformer, the second one will be connected to the shifter diode (the diode has not been assembled yet).
Thin black wire to the left of the capacitors - connects their cases to the base of the unit.

Soldered the shifter diode. So far without a case (the case is being made). The diode consists of 80 FR307 diodes, in parallel to each there is a 510k resistor. All diodes are connected in series. The power supply was turned on for the first time in the case. Tesla coil is tested. The consumption current was measured (it was more than 100A), after which the gridleak resistor was changed to 430 ohms (it was 200 ohms). After that, the current returned to normal (80A at a maximum frequency of 50Hz, without a staccato).

In the photo, the discharge hits the steel mesh, which is located on the sofa (the sofa itself does not suffer) and into the chandelier. The length of the discharge according to the photo remained unchanged - streamers up to 1.5 m long.
