Got the base made today, had to stack it up to see what it will look like. Ready for the electronics, 15000, 120 ma and a syncronous rotory spark gap and of course emi and a terry. The top hat is just for looks right now.  Can't wait. I would like to really thank everone that has taken time to answer and give me tips.

Seems like you have all the right parts, so not much criticism to give there

You should properly have the topload higher up, but I assume you will once its the final assembly. For 15kV @ 120mA, you will get some serious streamers and it would just go from topload to strike rail on that short distance and with topload diameter being smaller than strike ring diameter.

Is the white MMC plate "fold-able" so it goes around the base? Seems a little big if not.

What is up with the optical illusion between base plate and primary plate? I can for the love of god not see what that is...

That optical illusion is to cover the 3 paint can that are stacked there but not going to be in the final.  I will only be running it at 60ma (save 2 for spares) and the hat will be higher, does it matter if it is 6 or 8 inches higher or more..? Yes I am cutting the cap board into 3 pieces, one of those things you change as you go. Thank for advice.

I think they just messed up the formatting, the last paragraph is new and answers (some of) the questions from the actual quote.

Looks like some good parts. You will know if the toroid is too high if you get sparking or corona from the top windings of the secondary. If so then lower the toroid to better shield the top of the secondary. I was also wondering about the physical size of the MMC array.
