Two GDT's for full bridge??

Hi guys, I'm designing a new PCB for a SSTC, and for the gate drive section, can one use two dual gate drivers such as the UCC27524A, each to drive one GDT, one GDT per half of the full bridge?
Reason for this is, a single chip heats up when driving a full bridge of IRFP460s, and as I am on a tight budget, I dont want to buy other chips...

I don't see the reason why this should not work but let me give you an alternative.
It might be even cheaper (especially while you're still in the designing phase of the PCB) to design better cooling for the chip.
Use of large ground layers and thermal vias can help with heatsinking enough to cool the chip.
There are even some SMD heatsinks (although they are usually a bit expensive), but you can design the PCB such a way that a normal heatsink can be pressed against the chip (with screws for example). With a bit of thermal paste, this should work well and since you're on a budget, save you a bit of money.

You could also parallel 2 chips and use one GDT.

I kinda tested that out with a homebrew PCB just for the chip, and sadly, it didnt fully work. I will be ordering from a local store, and I will be able to get different copies of the circuit for a pretty low price. I will try that and let you know. Thanks
