My plasma ring
« on: October 05, 2023, 02:03:44 PM »
The glass ball was made by my friend Dudu SA, who graduated with a master's degree from Wuhan University of Technology. He has studied glow tubes for many years and is an outstanding glass processing craftsman. He has a molecular vacuum pump and various vacuum leak detection equipment, so I visited my friend and expressed my thoughts. After hearing this, he was also very excited and promised to make a glass ball for me. He purchased a large amount of expensive xenon gas to fill the glass ball. I was very, very excited after receiving the glass ball, so I made this experimental device. Of course, this glass ball comes with a price, and I didn't pay to purchase it. My friend's condition is that he wants to make a product for sale, so I'm sorry everyone. I cannot disclose the specific principle and engineering, it is a trade secret. But what I want to say is that the circuit principle is still based on Steve. Ward serves as a technical reference standard. Below is a collection of videos I took during my experiment. I hope everyone likes it.

Wow... its very beautiful. Im sure you could make lots of money from such things if you made it into a commerical grade product.

Yes, I am captivated by the beautiful halo. My friend is designing a shell, and I believe it will appear on Amazon or Taobao in China in the near future.

It's a nice looking ring. These plasma toroids always seems like magic.

Incidentally, there are details on how to build a plasma toroid already on the internet.
This is a very detailed YouTube video of the ideas behind this device.

Cheers.

I have watched this video, and of course there are other videos as well. The video also explains the relevant principles based on HFSSTC, and Steve Ward has also proposed an improved version of the new circuit. But you can also see many problems from it. Most balls are difficult to stabilize, and many require manual touch or external stimulation to activate the ring. There is a part of my video that shows the self starting environment, but there are also many details, such as power consumption and overall efficiency. These are all lazy displays in DIY videos. I cannot disclose too much about my improvements to this circuit to make it more suitable for the public and those who do not understand electronic technology to appreciate. This is also an issue that needs to be considered for commercialization and optimized on the circuit. Fortunately, the current improvements are very good, fully adapting to the compatibility of commercial products with the general public. But I still need to thank you for your reminder.

Just saw your video a few minutes before checking HV forum and seeing this post.  As already been said, nice plasma ring device!

Video is interesting.  Watch it frame by frame as ring starts.  Appears to be electric field capacitively coupled from coil that triggers start, followed by forming ring from magnetic field induced circular electric field.  You have more turns than most devices, which fits with this observation.  Higher electric field for given magnetic field.  I've been hoping to experiment some day with the opposite, a single turn coil such that capacitively coupled electric field is small compared to magnetically generated field.

Thank you for posting!  Fascinating device.  I agree, better than any others I've seen on youtube.

Thank you for your praise. I will look for opportunities when the product is sold, and there is great hope of giving you a glass ball. Of course, it depends on whether my friend will make me extra glass balls for my experiment
