This is a sad occasion to look at a huge Marx generator in Russia that has been torn down to make space for a shopping centre. Luckily a few Russian high voltage enthusiasts managed to save as many toroids and capacitors as they could drag away in a large trailer.
First post will be the before pictures and the second the after pictures.

Sad to see the destruction - I assume it was long decommissioned though?
Very #yolo method of knocking it down, I wonder if the Russians learnt something from Fred Dibnah?
