Solder v. Wago junctions

I'm assembling another CW and am trying to find the best layout for the components and the easiest way to assemble the CW as well as to remove diodes when they blow.

My previous CWs have mostly used soldered junctions, but I'm wondering if I can use Wago junctions to make things much easier.  I measured the resistance of 16AWG solid wire, both twisted/soldered and clamped in a Wago connector.  The solder joint measured .32 milliohms, and the Wago measured 2.4 milliohms.  Percentage wise, this is a big difference, but it may be trivial, especially given the high voltage levels these loints will see.

Well folks,   I had no idea what a "CW" was.  It took a while to find it.  CW stands for lots of things, by the way.
Turns out it's the Cockcroft-Walton Generator (I assume, anyway).   It multiplies an AC input to higher DC voltages using a "ladder" of diodes and capacitors.

From what I just read, these devices are not designed for high current applications.
I wouldn't think you'd be blowing a lot of diodes if the circuit was designed and applied properly.
But if you are going for thousands or tens of thousands of volts, a few milli ohms could make quite a difference.
---It appears that the whole world is in love with those Waco connectors, but I am not a fan.
OTOH, I do use solderless breadboards a lot, so don't pay any attention to me!!!

You may want to have a look at my 14-stage CW posting. All of my joints are done with brass screws but I also use doorknob capacitors and everything is under oil. My device is easily serviceable.

Current is as Peterspco pointed out low, perhaps not in the first stages but still far below compared to what the WAGO is rated for. Insulationwise it is not an issue, as the voltage is far beyound WAGOs rating and additional insulation is necssary (air , oil etc)

Apart from cost,  WAGOs are not cheap and the difficulty of getting a good connection with thin component leads (they are far thinner than normal electrical wiring) and might not create a reliable connection. That is what I see as a main risc. They are not designed for this task. You must check teh WAGOs specification.

Also, soldering might be troublesome due to faulty solder joints. They must all be thoroughly inspected, a loose joint will create arcing and voltage stress on components.

I have used them extensivly in my house. Very nifty. But get the ones that can accomodate both multistrand and single strand wiring if that is approved in your country.

I would think that higher voltages wouldbe less affected by small (<1ohm) resistances, even if the current carried is very small (a few mA).  Am I wrong?

Consider modern automotive ignition wire that has resistive cores for radio emission purposes.  It has significant ohms/ft. resistance but conducts a great deal of the coil's output to the plugs.
