Shipping to Luxemborg is the same as to Germany, 52 Euro, for a XL package with GLS just under 20kg

I know that, but if you don‘t really need it, it‘s still a lot of money with shipping. However, because it‘s an excellent offer and knowing that I‘ll use it one day for sure, I couldn‘t resist

One question: are the capacities of the tabs all against the case?

I only checked from terminals to water inlet connections, as these are where the brackets connect to. Case is mentioned to be live, but I am not sure which side of the capacitor that is, or it is undetermined due to capacitive coupling?

Ill check this weekend.

Hmm, that style is usually case = common.  Is there continuity between water pipes and case?

I tried measuring on two different sizes of these that I have, both on unused units and refurbished.

There is no connection between case and water connections, the water connections are also sitting on ceramic insulators.

I also tried to locate a datasheet and writing them did not give any results.

They are custom made units and I think that I just found a datasheet for a similar capacitor and trusted it to be very much identical to that.

I can not find a datasheet for NWL on my NAS, so it does not seem like I saved it.

I looked at the WFC series capacitors: http://www.nwl.com/products/capacitors/wfc-series/

And from their datasheet they can actually both be live or dead, depending on design: http://www.nwl.com/wp-content/uploads/pdf/nwl-wfc-series-capacitors-product-data.pdf

You found the same documents and conclusions as I did

However I wouldn‘t call that document a datasheet... It‘s nothing more than a overview of the WFC series.

Good morning,

Finally got my capacitor.
Everything seems fine - although it is apparently a bit older than I thought. Thus is of course no problem when it’s still working!
Unfortunately I can‘t test it soon, as I‘d have to build a serious induction heater first.

Good that it got there in one piece and hopefully without any bent connections.

I also had a hard time determine the age of these, because they all look the same, the new ones and the refurbished, some of the refurbished also got new labels and some had a older one. The corrosion on the aluminium varies, but they all have some, not the new ones ofc.

I am really looking forward to see your induction heater!

As far as I can see, there‘re no damages by shipping. You did a good job!

Unfortunately the induction heater won‘t be realised soon. Maybe in some months... I first want to finish my DRSSTC and have no time at all for either one.
