Hi I am looking to build an induction heater with parts I have on hand. It will be using a standard 120V 20A appliance branch circuit so I can not go past 2.4KVA for the time being. I want to build it with the common 4046 PLL IC, Gate drivers, full bridge and common parts I have on hand. I am looking for a schematic that is hopefully achievable with ideally what I have on hand if a schematic like that is available. Also I am curious on how feedback is typically achieved on induction heaters of this style. I have some large ferrite cores that provide a usable gate drive signal between 40-90khz that I believe would be perfect for feedback If they need to completely surround the copper tubing in the tank circuit as they are quite large. While looking for this project I have found a post on a forum mentioning using a schematic I have previously built scopeboys DWSSTC2
http://www.scopeboy.com/tesla/dwsstc/wk2.html as an induction heater driver. I have already built this schematic to drive a tesla coil. Looking at the datasheet of the cd4046b I am a little lost on how to calculate a new capacitance to determine the base locking frequency for the PLL, It looks like I need to use the graph at the end of the datasheet and increase the capacitance accordingly.
I appreciate any help and am grateful for anyone who replies. I'm not sure how this project is coming together yet.
