Did someone manage to get this driver to work correctly with a current sensor on the feedback input ? Seller Source Ebay or Ali (2019 NEW Tesla coil DRSSTC SKP jump pulse driver + Arc extinguishing controller)



I spent time in experimentation: it is a failure for me with this driver. For me, it only works with a generator connected to the feedback

Please send more information about your circuit (your current transformer, inverter, some scopes) - this will help with diagnosis.

See my drsstc post, I use an identical driver with a few modifications. While I'm still developing the project, the driver works great.

Quick tip (1) is: throw away that fiber optic cable - get a better one. Many people who use this driver complain that it is the source of the problems you describe.

Quick tip (2): Have you tried to reverse the input wires from CT?

You cannot use such current transformer with a standard driver. The driver has a input impedance of around 3 Ohm and your current transformer around 12 Ohm. Such transformers are for around 100mA on the secondary. The driver needs about 1A.

Hi there,

Please explain why you say that we can not use these CT's with the yunbao driver? Gao uses them with his UD2.7 driver and has never said that there is any problem using them.

With my coil I am expecting an average of 200A with a possible max of 250A so the CST206-3A (300:1) should be fine?

If I do need to wind my own cascaded pair, should I use 14:14 turns for 196:1 which would provide 1Amp at my average current? (1.27A at max) and ... would I do the same then for the overcurrent sense?

CST206-3 should work well.  It's internal 12.4 ohms is in series with whatever load (burden) resistor is used.  The total voltage across the burden resistor plus 12.4ohms will still be way under its 6000uVs rating.

I did my first tests today and can confirm that the driver DOES work with the CST206/3 current transformers :-)

I did have to swop the leads around as the phasing was wrong when I first connected it but once I did that, it worked perfectly and held my fres of 131Khz even at very low power.

For me it's always the same.

Tesla driver need to have a generator connected to feedback. I observe two resonances : one approximately 245khz and a big one at 330khz with spark (at DC 80VDC.

for testing I use the switch case provided with the driver and in SKP mode

Primary is 25µH and 13 nF, 13 turns spaced 1 cm (hight 15cm) wire is 0.4cm multi wire twist (??) sheathed copper

Secondary coil resonate at approximately 280/300khz (with top load). Diameter 8cm height 55 cm 900 turns

with the sense current  level is very low and fequency is 360khz ? sence current 1:300 CST 206-3

what else can I do?
