Induction heater Driver for Flyback?

I have a heavy duty induction heater that uses ~1/4" copper tube for its coil.  I measure ~33kHz across the coil, but don't know the open circuit voltage.

Can this driver be used for FB transformers?

The short answer is "yes" but you may have to make modifications.

It depends on how many turns that you use for the FB primary coil. You may have to add or remove capacitance from the induction heater board. Both depend on the resonant frequency that you desire. The turns count also affects the FB output voltage. So its a trade-off.

Thanx, Milstar, but the driver has about 12 identical capacitors on its board. I certainly don't want to change all those capacitors based on a guess as to whether they should be higher or lower.  Might I be able to piggyback a single cap in parallel with them?

I can experiment with various numbers of turns on the FB primary.  As is, somewhere around 11 turns of 14AWG stranded wire is what I'm using.  Fewer turns decreases the CW output.

Adding capacitance is easy. Just connect more in parallel using the output terminals. Reducing capacitance is more difficult because you have to de-solder capacitors from the board.
