Hello, I am working on the following drsstc.

I am having problems inserting new values into javaTC when I put insert the primary values into the website. It makes it pretty difficult to fine adjust the primary I am wondering if others have problems with the program being generally buggy or if it is just me and I am missing something. The resonant frequency changes and lowers 16khz when I add the primary and the program insists I do not change any values after that. The javaTC files are attached at the bottom of this post along with all of the measurements and pictures of the coils specifications.

I also have a question on the best connectors to swap the TO−3P−3L casing FGA60N65SMD IGBTS when they need replacing. I need terminal lugs that will be able to handle the high frequency and currents without making much impedance. I found this connector in a video but I could not find a mouser link. I attached the image below with the pictures of my coils specifications

thank you,

10 inches long secondary

1.75 inch radius secondary

turn amount was found by finding 18 turns per half cm and finding the total cm of the coil was 26 making roughly 936 turns (my javatc file contains a slightly different number from an earlier attempt to count)

torroid Major Diameter 7.8 inch

torroid minor diameter 1.75 inch

the form the primary will be attached to a 4.5 inch outer diameter pvc radius 2.25in

Java TC files:

* drsstc java tc  no primary.txt
no primary coil^

* drsstc java tc.txt
primary coil^

I've had JavaTC sometimes fail when vertical positions are exactly 0 (primary and/or bottom of secondary).  Changing 0 values to 0.01 fixes this issue.  Not sure if you are experiencing this bug or some other one.

Here is a link to some of those exact connectors I just ordered. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/571-2828413

I use them in my builds to quickly swap IGBT of MOSFETs as well. Try and trim the leads as short as your design will allow to cut down on extra lead length inductance.

Any connector will add significant parasitic inductance to FET or IGBT leads.  Makes swapping easy, but often also makes swapping more necessary by making failures more likely.  Depends on margin in circuit design and construction and robustness of particular FET or IGBT parts used.  Even for direct solder connections, remaining FET/IGBT lead length has significant inductance.  Soldering FETs/IGBTs close to H-Bridge board with short leads is ideal presuming H-Bridge board is constructed with low parasitic inductance.
